Mumbai, Jan. 16 -- The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday advanced by 52 points to open at 36,370.74 as brisk buying was seen in Materials, Energy, Finance, Industrial, IT and Capital Goods.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 13 points to 10,899.65. The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 36,464.03 and 36,323.29 respectively.

The Nifty recorded intra-day high and low at 10,928.15 and 10,879.30 points respectively.

The gainers were IndusInd Bank by 1.49 pc to Rs 1519, ICICI Bank by 1.33 pc to Rs 377.50, NTPC by 1.23 pc to Rs 147.60, SBI by 1.16 pc to Rs 304.50 and ONGC by 0.76 pc to Rs 146.20.

The losers were Bajaj Finance by 1.09 pc to Rs 2570.80, ITC by 1.06 pc to Rs 293.45, Kotak B...
