Raipur, Feb. 19 -- Ruling Congress MLAs and opposition BJP exchanged barbs in Chhattisgarh Assembly over unemployment on Tuesday.
While BJP MLAs alleged that government did not fulfil its election promise of unemployment allowance, ruling Congress MLAs asked BJP MLAs about Modi government's promise of providing jobs to 2 crore unemployed every year.
Higher Education Minister Umesh Patel while replying to question raised by BJP MLA Shivratan Sharma during question hour that 23 lakh 25 thousand 85 unemployed youth were registered in employment offices till last December 31.
He said that unemployment allowance to all of them was currently under consideration.
