The President and his Filipino Counterpart sign several bilateral agreements
Sri Lanka, Jan. 16 -- President Maithripala Sirisena who is on a five-day official visit in the Philippines met with his Filipino counterpart Rodrigo Duterte at the latter's official residence, Malacanan Palace today.
President's Media Unit stated that President Sirisena was warmly welcomed by the Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte.
During the bilateral talks, the two leaders have drawn their attention to set up an economic council to rejuvenate the existing trade and economic relations between the two countries.
It further stated that one of such steps is to establish a Philippine embassy in Colombo.
The two leaders have also discussed how to cooperate with each other in agricultural, technology training, education, tourism sector...
