Sweden, Jan. 12 -- The common candidate at the next Presidential Election from UPFA has not been agreed upon yet. The candidate is to be the person agreed upon both by the Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapksa and President Maithripala Sirisena.

In the meantime, the UPFA MPs have passed a motion to not support President Maithripala Sirisena to be the next Presidential candidate.

In a press briefing by UPFA MPs Janaka Chakkumbura, Indika Anurudda, and Kanchana Wijesekera, on 11 January they announced that the UPFA candidate is to be the person agreed upon by Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapksa and President Maithripala Sirisena.
