Tashkent, April 18 -- Saudi company ACWA Power plans to build a wind power plant with a total capacity of 200 MW in Karakalpakstan, the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Finance reports. The project will cost $262 mln.

According to the ministry, 25 public-private partnership (PPP) agreements totaling $311.65m were signed in the first quarter. On March 28, with EBRD support, the Uzbek government and ACWA Power signed an agreement on construction of a 200 MW wind farm and a 100 MW electricity storage system on PPP terms. The cost of the "green" energy project is estimated at $262.65 mln.
