ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 1 -- United States Patent no. 11,971,846, issued on April 30, was assigned to SambaNova Systems Inc. (Palo Alto, Calif.).

"Logic unit for a reconfigurable processor" was invented by Raghu Prabhakar (San Jose, Calif.), Manish K. Shah (Austin, Texas), Ram Sivaramakrishnan (San Jose, Calif.), Pramod Nataraja (San Jose, Calif.), David Brian Jackson (Dana Point, Calif.) and Gregory Frederick Grohoski (Bee Cave, Texas).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A logic unit in an array of processing units is configurable to consume source tokens and a status signal and to produce barrier tokens and an enable signal based on the source tokens and the status signal."
