ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 1 -- United States Patent no. 11,971,155, issued on April 30.

"Mounting bracket for affixing light fixtures to pilings" was invented by Donald Blajda (Belmont, N.H.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention is a mounting bracket that may be secured on top of a hollow piling, pipe, or pole and then used to mount a lighting fixture or other fixture thereto. It includes inner and outer walls extending downward from a flat base, where the walls of the piling, pipe, or pole may be disposed in the space between the inner and outer walls."

The patent was filed on Feb. 26, 2021, under Application No. 17/186,083.
