New Delhi, March 18 -- Tamil Nadu Government on Monday approached the Supreme Court seeking directions to the TN Governor to appoint K Ponmudi as Cabinet Minister.
The petition moved by the Tamil Nadu Government has informed the Apex Court that Governor RN Ravi has refused to accede to the request of Chief Minister to appoint Mr Ponmudi as Minister and for shuffling of portfolio. Hence directions should be given to him to carry forward the CM's recommendation.
Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi mentioned the matter before the Chief Justice of India (CJI) for an urgent listing.
The CJI suggested Singhvi to send an email to the registry for an urgent hearing.
