Islamabad, May 9 -- Pakistani security forces conducted two separate operations in the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Wednesday, resulting in the killing of six terrorists, the military said in a statement.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, said that the first operation was carried out in Dera Ismail Khan district of the province based on intelligence reports indicating the presence of terrorists in the area.

During the operation, security forces cordoned off the terrorists' hideout and successfully killed the five terrorists after an exchange of intense firing.
