Kabul, April 27 -- At least four people died following a landslide in eastern Afghanistan's Laghman province, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani said Saturday.

The landslide triggered by heavy rain occurred in the Darunta area along a highway linking the capital Kabul to the eastern provinces, Qani said.

Most parts of Afghanistan have been receiving rain and snowfall since Thursday.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan's meteorological department has predicted snowfall, scattered rain, and flash floods in the following days. UNI/XINHUA XC SSP
