Agartala, March 18 -- The CPI-M and Congress have announced to launch joint campaign soon in both the parliamentary constituencies of Tripura where each of the parties would contest from one constituency as per the seat sharing agreement as per the principle of the INDA bloc, said CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Chaudhury here on Monday.

"We had our state committee meeting in the presence of Politburo members Prakash Karat and Manik Sarkar and decided that CPI-M would not put up any candidate in the West Tripura Loksabha seat and extend support to Congress candidate Ashis Kumar Saha while senior party leader and former MLA Rajendra Reang would fight from East Tripura (ST) seat as INDIA bloc candidate," Chaudhury said.
