Belagavi, April 19 -- Former Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar on Friday alleged that the "appeasement policies" of the state's Congress government was "increasing Jihadi activities".

Addressing a public meeting in Belagavi, Shettar, whos is the BJP candidate for the Belgaum Lok Sabha constituency. criticised the state government for its "failure" to maintain law and order, highlighting some recent incidents.

He specifically pointed to the murder of Neha Hiremath in a college in Hubballi as a glaring example of the deteriorating security situation.
