Dhaka, May 6 -- The Election Commission (EC) has issued directives for the transfer of Noakhali Subarnachar Thana Office-in-Charge (OC) in anticipation of the upcoming upazila parish polls.
EC's deputy secretary, Md. Mizanur Rahman, dispatched a notice to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) on Sunday, signalling the decision.
The notice stipulates that with the aim of ensuring the sixth upazila polls are conducted in a free, fair, and neutral manner, the EC has opted to withdraw Noakhali Subarnachar Thana OC, Rafiqual Islam, and Assistant Sub-inspector Nur Nabi. The EC further instructed the authorities concerned to appoint eligible officers to these positions.
