Lucknow, April 19 -- With the nation on the brink of the first phase of general elections slated for April 19, all eyes are focussed on Western Uttar Pradesh (UP) region, where the Jatava community, known for their support of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and the Muslim electorate wield considerable influence.

"The performance of BSP candidates across the eight contested seats and the voting inclinations of minority communities are poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the electoral outcome for both Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and Samajwadi Party, BSP candidates in the initial phase," remarks political analyst Rajesh N Bajpai.
