KOCHI, March 1 -- The Presidential assent to the controversial Lok Ayukta Bill enacted by the Kerala Government has upset the civil society in the State. With the Bill getting the assent of the President, the Kerala Government would be able to reject and dismiss the findings of Lok Ayukta in corruption charges against public servants, chief minister, ministers and MLAs.

This was one of the Bills which was held back by Governor Arif Mohammed Khan against whom the CPI(M) led Government approached the Supreme Court complaining that the former was delaying all key legislations enacted by the Kerala Legislative Assembly. The Governor had referred the Bill to the President for taking a final decision.
