Jalandhar, Feb. 9 -- Acting sternly against the criminals, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police led by Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma has arrested eight gangsters of Lawrence Bishnoi gang, with weapons, involved in extortion, ransom, threat and other criminal activities.
Jalandhar Commissioner of Police on Thursday said that on January 27, 2024, owner of Karma Fashion Showroom received an extortion call demanding a substantial sum of Rs 50 lakhs. "Swinging into action, the Commissionerate Police registered FIR, dated January 29, 2024, under sections 387, 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 25-54-59 of the Arms Act at Police Station Division 4 Jalandhar, and started investigation into the matter," he said.
