RAIPUR, Feb. 14 -- Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday announced a probe into the alleged corruption in online supply of liquor.

He also promised to crack the whip on bar and restaurants in the state capital which are open till late at night flouting the norms.

Sai was replying to a question of former Leader of Opposition and BJP legislator Dharamlal Kaushik in the state Assembly.

Kaushik demanded an explanation as why revenue from liquor fell to Rs 24 lakhs in 2022-23 from Rs 52.27 crore in 2021-22.

In 2022-23, online supply of liquor was enforced due to Covid pandemic.
