RAIPUR, April 23 -- Authorities in Chhattisgarh have confiscated cash and other goods worth Rs 47.62 crore between March 16 and April 21 as part of their campaign to ensure free and fair general elections, an official statement said on Monday.

The seizures include Rs 12 crore in cash, 46,383 litres of illicit liquor valued at Rs 1.23 crore, 3,103 kg of narcotics valued at Rs 6.07 crore, 87.46 kg of precious metal worth Rs 2.14 crore and other goods worth Rs 26.11 crore.

This raises the tally to Rs 113.65 crore. The Model Code of Conduct came into effect on March 16.
