Bhubaneswar, April 20 -- Everytime during elections, you must be coming across this term NOTA. NOTA or 'None Of The Above' option provides voters with the choice of formally rejecting all the candidates, signalling their dissent. In September 2013, Supreme Court ruled in favour of including the NOTA options into ballots with the belief that that it would initiate greater participation in the voting process. The order emphasised on the fact that inclusion of NOTA would compel political parties to nominate candidates of higher quality.
