Bhubaneswar, April 29 -- The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police arrested three conmen on Monday who posed as policemen and looted people in Cuttack.

As per reports, masquerading as policemen, the three had looted jewellery and cash over Rs 3 lakh at two places under Badambadi Police limits. They belong to the infamous 'Irani gang.' Two of them hail from Maharashtra and the other is from Madhya Pradesh.

According to police, as many as 14 cases are pending against them at different police stations in Odisha. Besides they have links with some cases in other states.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.

Police have also seized cell phones from them and sent them to a forensic lab for data mining.
