Bhubaneswar, May 1 -- In what could provide much-need relief to people, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted considerable drop in the day or maximum temperature in Odisha. Apart from this, the severe heatwave conditions are likely to prevail in different parts of Odisha for the next two days.

IMD Bhubaneswar Director Manorama Mohanty today informed that 'red warning' for severe heatwave conditions have been issued for several districts, including twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar today.

"The severe heatwave conditions are likely to prevail in Odisha for today and tomorrow. After May 2, there is possibility of drop in maximum temperature by 2 to 3 degrees," said Mohanty.
