Bhubaneswar, Feb. 21 -- In a major move, the Odisha government has decided to give a massive facelift to the iconic Barabati stadium in Cuttack. Moreover, the stadium is likely to be demolished and renovated as part of the proposed development plan.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Barabati stadium was built in 1952. Later, former Secretary of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) Ashirbad Behera had initiated measures for floodlights, corporate box and increasing the capacity of the stadium.

OCA Secretary Sanjay Behera informed that a vision document was prepared and submitted to the state government in this regard.
