Bhubaneswar, Feb. 24 -- The second day of the fourth Test between India and England witnessed an intriguing contest between both the teams at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi on Saturday.

In reply to England's first innings total of 353, India got a bad start as captain Rohit Sharma fell cheaply. However, emerging batters Shubman Gill and Yashavi Jaiswal stitched a solid partnership to thwart the England bowlers to make further inroads.

Both Jaiswal and Gill scored at a steady rate before Shoiab Bashir scalped the wicket of Shubman Gill. However, before that, there was a controversial moment in the day's play when England started celebrating after a grounded catch of Jaiswal.
