Bhubaneswar, May 5 -- Five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) have been eliminated from the playoff race in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are also following the same path and are almost out of contention for a play-off berth despite winning three consecutive matches.

RCB have so far played 11 games, losing seven while securing a victory in four games. Even if they manage to beat the rivals in the remaining three contests, they would reach 14 points and that doesn't guarantee them a spot in the playoffs.
