Bhubaneswar, May 8 -- The Srimandir in Puri witnessed a power outage which left the temple in complete darkness on Wednesday evening. The power disruption continued for 15-20 minutes, reports said.

As per reports, the sudden blackout left devotees shocked. They groped for ways in complete darkness from Singhadwar Gumuta to Baisi Pahacha. At that time, devotees had gone inside and were returning after having darshan of the side deities. Due to the Banaklagi ritual of the deities, darshan had been suspended.

Power backup had also failed, though some mini inverter lights were on. The inverter lights on the Paschima Dwar were off, sources said.
