Afghanistan, April 29 -- Bill Gates, the head of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation urged countries to commit financially to fighting polio. He emphasizes that there is no guarantee of success in completely eradicating the disease.

According to Reuters, he welcomed Saudi Arabia's $500 million aid for the global fight against polio yesterday, Sunday, April 28th.

Mr. Gates stated, "There's no guarantee that we'll succeed. I strongly believe we can, but achieving this goal is challenging."
