Srinagar, Feb. 14 -- Most places witnessed an increase in minimum temperature but stayed below freezing point with Srinagar recording a low of minus 2.5degC on Tuesday.

A meteorological department official here told GNS that the temperature in Srinagar increased by over one degree Celsius from the previous night's minus 3.6degC and it was below normal by 2.7degC for the summer capital of J&K for this time of the year.

Qazigund recorded a minimum of minus 1.2degC against minus 3.2degC on the previous night and it was 0.2degC below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, the MeT official said.
