JAMMU, April 25 -- District Magistrate Jammu Sachin Kumar Vaishya, in the exercise of the powers vested in him under Sub Section (1) of Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code, 1973, on Wednesday issued prohibitory orders and banned public meetings and gatherings of five or more persons ahead of polling for 5-Jammu Parliamentary Constituency (PC) scheduled to be held on April 26, 2024.
The prohibitory order will come into force with effect from 06:00 pm today i.e. 24-04-2024 till the closure of the poll on 26-04-2024.
As per the order, there shall be a complete ban on the holding of public meetings; gathering of five or more persons; and use of loudspeakers, besides any other prohibitions as envisaged in ECI's instructions and guidelines s...
