Srinagar, April 17 -- Police have arrested four drug peddlers across Kashmir and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Tuesday.

He said in Baramulla, at a checkpoint at Guage Crossing Kreeri, one Ishtiyaq Ahmad Wani alias Jana, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Waripora Bala, was arrested after 50 grams of contraband cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession.

In Sopore, at Iqbal Market, two persons - Jahangir Ahmad Shah, son of Ghulam Muhammad Shah, and Owais Ahmad Shah, son of Noor Muhammad Shah of Neharpora Sopore - were arrested after their search yielded 110 grams of cannabis-like substance, 242 tablets/capsules of banned drugs and cash of Rs. 35,000.
