Ganderbal, Feb. 10 -- Twelve persons have been apprehended with fake currency in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district.

Quoting officials, news agency Kashmir Scroll reported that acting on a tip-off, police during a raid arrested 12 persons, from whose possession 30 wads of fake currency notes worth Rs 50,000 each were recovered. The total value of recovered counterfeit notes amounted to Rs 1,500,000. Additionally, Rs 56,600 in Indian currency were also seized at the scene.

Police also seized five vehicles "used in the commission of the crime" - JK15-4533 (Alto-K10), JK18B-2652 (Baleno), JK18D-3543 (Alto-K10), JK01AU-5420 (I-20), and PB01A-9585 (Etios).
