Hyderabad, April 7 -- BRS Working President K Tarakarama Rao has accused the Congress of promoting party defection and criticized the party for its alleged double standards on the issue.
Rao stated that while the Congress promises to amend the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution to disqualify members involved in party defection, the Chief Minister of Telangana and other Congress leaders are actively encouraging defections from other parties. He pointed out the nomination of a Member of the Legislative Assembly involved in such defections as a candidate in the Lok Sabha elections, highlighting what he sees as contradictory behaviour by the Congress.
