Hyderabad, April 17 -- The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has petitioned the Election Commission of India (ECI) to transfer police officials involved in the phone-tapping case, alleging their alignment with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who also oversees the Home portfolio.

In their plea, BRS demanded the immediate reassignment of Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Srinivas Reddy, Deputy Commissioner of Police West Zone Vijay Kumar, and the investigation officer of the phone tapping case, Venkat Giri. The party cited concerns that the investigation team, appointed by the Chief Minister, was allegedly under his influence, jeopardizing the impartiality of the investigation.
