GUWAHATI, India, May 6 -- Gauhati High Court issued the following order on April 8:
Mr. D. Nath, learned Senior Government Advocate, Assam has submitted that after the retirement of one of the Members of the concerned Committee, a new Member has been inducted in the said Committee on 06.04.2024. Therefore, he prays for some time may be granted to the State of Assam to furnish a detailed report regarding the conditions of the remaining two prisons in the State of Assam for which compliance report has not been furnished.
Time, as prayed for, is granted.
List this matter on 15.05.2024.
In the meantime, Mr. H.K. Das, learned Amicus Curiae may file his response regarding the compliance report filed by the States of Mizoram, Nagaland, Arun...
