Mumbai, April 25 -- The value of merger and acquisition (MA) deals surged by 60 percent to reach USD 19.6 billion in January-March 2024, while private equity (PE) deal value experienced a slight decline, according to a report from PwC India.

The first quarter of 2024 saw a significant increase in deal volume, with 455 deals totalling USD 25.6 billion in disclosed value, up 24 percent compared to the fourth quarter of 2023.

This signals a shift from the declining trend observed throughout 2023, it added.
