Kolkata/IBNS, April 30 -- In a huge relief to Mamata Banerjee-led government, the Supreme Court Monday stayed the Calcutta High Court order directing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe into the role of West Bengal government officials in an alleged teacher recruitment scam.

The top court halted the Calcutta HC order while it was hearing a petition by the state government against a high court order invalidating the School Service Commission (SSC)-led appointment of 25,753 teachers and non-teaching staff in state-run and state-aided schools.
