Manipur, April 24 -- An RCC bridge between Sapermeina and Koubru Leikha, which is 1 km North from Sapermeina Police station in Kangpokpi district, Manipur along Imphal-Dimapur road NH-2 was destroyed by three bomb explosions, suspected to be by Kuki militants, around 12.25 am on Wednesday.

The blast, causing major damage to the bridge, has cut off all traffic and vehicular movement on the most important lifeline of the state.

Official reports said, the bombs were exploded horizontally in three spots making huge holes in the middle of the bridge.

The impact of the explosion on the bridge shook the ceiling of Evangelical Baptist Convention Church Fellowship which is 700 meters away from the explosion site.
