Chattogram, Jan. 16 -- An oil depot was gutted in a fire at Fouzdarhat Abdullahor Ghata area in Sitakundu upazila on Wednesday afternoon.

Jashim Uddin, Chattogram divisional deputy assistant of Fire Service and Civil Defense, said that the fire broke out around 2:15 pm and engulfed a motorbike showroom 'Tata Motors and Borotakia Motors'.

On information, 18 vehicles of six fire-fighting units and a vehicle of Navy rushed in and doused the fire around 3:30pm.

The oil depot was used to preserve engine oil collected from old ships of ship yard.

However, the origin of the fire could not be known yet.
