Srinagar, Jan. 15 -- There is an even stronger spell of snow expected from January 19 to 23 in Jammu and Kashmir, local MeT has predicted.

D irector Meteorological Department, J&K, Sonam Lotus said that another now spell of stronger intensity is expected from January 19, with a peak on January 22.

Kashmir valley has received widespread snowfall in two spells so far this month.

The valley is presently witnessing the 40-day long period of harsh winter cold called the 'Chillai Kalan', which started on December 21 and is likely to end on January 30.

On Tuesday, even as the sun shone brightlyin Kashmir Valley for the second consecutive day, there was hardly any respite from the cold.

Srinagar recorded a low of minus 5.8 degrees Celsius.
