ISLAMABAD, Jan. 15 -- Pakistan's Supreme Court on Monday rejected the appeal filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against the suspension of prison sentences handed to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Muhammad Safdar in the Avenfield corruption case.

In July 2018, an accountability court had sentenced Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Safdar to 10 years, seven years and one year in prison, respectively in the reference pertaining to the Sharifs' purchase of four upmarket flats in Avenfield House, London.
