Berhampur, Jan. 19 -- Taking stern note of rise in crime graph, the Ganjam district BJP unit has demanded introduction of Commissionerate Police system in Berhampur. The party has further threatened for agitation if their demand is not fulfilled by Odisha government in coming days.
While addressing a press conference yesterday, Ganjam district BJP president, Kanhucharan Pati alleged that Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had earlier announced that Commissionerate Police system will be introduced under Berhampur Municipal Corporation limits.
"Even after 11 years, the chief minister is yet to fulfil the promise made to the people of the district," said Pati.
