India, Jan. 15 -- A credit war has erupted between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Kerala government over the Kollam bypass, set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.

Constructed at a cost of Rs 352 crore, the Kollam bypass project will ease traffic congestion around Kollam town and lessen the travel time between Alappuzha and Thiruvananthapuram.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate to the nation the 13-km, 2-lane Kollam bypass on NH-66 in Kerala tomorrow (Tuesday). Constructed at a cost of Rs 352 crore, this highway has three major bridges over Ashtamudi Lake," the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said in a statement on Monday.
