New Delhi, Jan. 10 -- From Thursday, the national capital is to undergo a practice test before the polls as mock polls will be conducted in East Delhi and soon throughout the city, to demonstrate the use of VVPAT and electronic voting machines.

A vehicle with an EVM, a VVPAT machine and a LED display for East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency was flagged off on Wednesday by the chief electoral officer, Ranbir Singh. The officials with these vehicles will demonstrate how to cast the votes and how can they check on the VVPAT machines the vote they have cast.

Before the elections, 70 such vehicles will have covered 70 assembly constituencies in Delhi to create awareness among people.
