Maseru, Jan. 15 -- The Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) had a meeting with local suppliers where they revealed their new ways of allocating tenders.

The chairman of the board Mr Refiloe Matekane, revealed that Basotho businesses would be given first priority over non-Basotho establishments when allocating tenders.

He encouraged local businessmen and women to provide goods of high quality as the company is going to give priority to businesses that provide only the best quality.

He confirmed that the company is yet to release the tender allocation criteria.

"The criteria will be released on Friday this week. Suppliers should consider the requirements as allocation of tenders would be based on it," Matekane said.
