Manipur, Jan. 16 -- The Gaan Ngai is the greatest festival of the Zeliangrong people. It is mainly celebrated by the followers of Tingkao Ragwang Chapriak (TRC) in the three states of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland. The Zeliangrong which performs a well organized and well knit festival like the Gaan Ngai festival is a remarkable community. They live in the three states of Manipur, Assam and Nagaland. Zeliangrong is an acronym of the prefixes of three cognate groups of Zeme, Liangmai and Rongmei (Ze+Liang+Rong) which were adopted with the foundation of Zeliangrong Council in 1947.
