AMBALA, Jan. 1 -- A day after seven persons were killed and five others injured when their cars were hit by a vehicle on the Ambala-Chandigarh highway, the driver of a Volvo bus (bearing registration number HR 38 AY 0099) of the Northern Travels Company was arrested on Sunday.

As per the police, the bus driver identified as Vikrant Saklani of Gharan village of Mandi, had sped off after the bus rammed into the two cars. He also allegedly shifted the passengers of his bus to another bus of the same company which was coming from behind. The Delhibound bus was coming from Mandi.
