Sri Lanka, Jan. 16 -- President Maithripala Sirisena landed in Manila yesterday to begin the 4-day state visit, upon the invitation of President Rodrigo Duterte.

President Sirisena is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions on areas of mutual interest with the President later today.

These will include discussions on political, economic, cultural, and people-to-people engagement.

this state visit is the first high-level visit by a foreign government leader to the Philippines this year.

During the visit, the President sirsena will visit the Asian Development Bank in Manilla and the International Rice Research Institute in Los Banos, Laguna.
