Kathmandu, Jan. 15 -- Former Chief Justice Sushila Karki among 20 other individuals from civil society has expressed their solidarity with Dr Govinda KC on Tuesday. Dr KC has been staging his 16th hunger strike demanding reforms in country's medical sector in Nepal's eastern district Illam since January 8.

The civil society appealed the government and lawmakers to endorse National Medical Education Bill by incorporating the spirit of the agreement reached with Dr KC during his 15th hunger strike.

The civil society members who made this appeal include Karki, former speaker Damannath Dhungana and Tribhuvan University former Vice-chancellor Kedar Bhakta Mathema, among others.
