Kathmandu, Jan. 17 -- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the development works will gain rapid momentum from now onwards as the government remained occupied with formulating necessary laws and other necessary preparations in the past year.

Laying the foundation for proposed dry port in Chobhar of Kirtipur Municipality on Thursday, Oli said: "We had the constitution but not the necessary laws. Therefore, we spent a year in enacting necessary laws. Now we have made conducive environment for development works."

The dry port is being constructed in 11.77 hectare land allocated by Himal Cement Factory in Chobhar with an estimated budget of Rs 1.48 billion.
