Kathmandu, Jan. 17 -- Members of Civil Society have started taking initiatives to bring Dr Govinda KC, who has been staging his 16th hunger strike in Ilam, to Kathmandu after his health deteriorated further.

Former Chief Justice Sushila Karki, former House Speaker Damannath Dhungana and former Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University Kedar Bhakta Mathema on Thursday decided to go to Ilam after the government did not take initiatives to address the demands of Dr KC. They are planning to bring the anti-graft crusader to Kathmandu for treatment as his health condition is worsening.

According to a source, senior orthopedic at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) will be airlifted to Kathmandu if he agrees.
