Jammu, Jan. 15 -- Despite introduction of Travel, Tourism and Hotel Management as an optional subject at Higher Secondary level in 2008-09, Students opting for it complain that the subject is not being taught properly.
If sources are to be believed, even the curriculum/syllabus for the subject had been prepared by Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) since long, yet it is not being taught in Govt. Schools leaving the Students in a quandary.
Sources further claimed that interestingly, Travel and Tourism is a major industry of J&K, it is also considered as the backbone of the state's economy and main source of employment for youth. So there is a huge demand for Professionals in the industry.
